Before You Schedule a Visit

All visitors must be approved and added to a prisoner's approved visiting list before a visit may be scheduled.

Effective September 1, 2026, visitor applications must be completed by the visitor, not by the prisoner. Applications completed and submitted by a prisoner will not be accepted.

A seperate application is required for each adult visitor and each minor visitor.

Adult Visitors

Adult visitors must complete and submit a separate PMCF Adult Visitor Application.

The application must be completed in full and include all required information and documentation.

Minor Visitors

A separate PMCF Minor Visitor Application is required for each minor child.

The application must be completed and submitted by the minor child's parent or legal guardian and must include the required supporting documentation and notarization.

Submitting an application is a request for visitor clearance only. Approval of a visitor application does not schedule a visit.

Scheduling a Visit

Once a visitor has been approved and added to the prisoners approved visiting list, the visitor may request an appointment by emailing:

All visitation is by appointment only and must be scheduled by 4:00 p.m. on the business day before the requested visit.

A visit is not confirmed until PMCF has approved the requested appointment. Processing times may vary depending on the background-clearance requirements.

When requesting an appointment, visiotrs should include:

• Visitor's full name
• Prisoner's full name
• Prisoner's DOC number
• Requested visitation date and time

Visit Length and Special Visits

Regular visits are approximately one hour in length. Prisoners are limited to one scheduled visit per day, with a maximum of two visitors per visit.

Requests for a third visitor, an extended visit, or another special visiting circumstance must be submitted in advance by the prisoner to the Superintendent or designee using a Request for Interview (RFI).

Extended visits may be considered for approved visitors traveling more than 100 miles one way to PMCF. Travel from Anchorage or Girdwood does not meet the distance requirement for an extended visit.

Requests for special or extended visits must be submitted at least three business days before the requested visit. Approval is based on institutional needs and the ability to accommodate the request and is not guaranteed. A special or extended visit will not be scheduled until approved by the Superintendent or designee through the RFI process described above.

Transportation Requirements

The environment at Point Mackenzie Correctional Farm is more rural and remote than many other DOC facilities.

Visitors should make transportation arrangements before traveling to the facility.

Visitors who do not drive themselves to PMCF must have their driver and vehicle remain on facility grounds for the duration of the visit. Visitors may not be dropped off and left without immediate return transportation. Due to PMCF's remote location and the lack of nearby public transportation or services, visitors must be able to depart the facility promptly if visitation is terminated because of an emergency, institutional lockdown, or other operational need.

Visitors are responsible for ensuring that their transportation is reliable and appropriate for current weather and road conditions.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to dress appropriately for current and expected weather conditions. PMCF is located in a remote area, and visitors may be required to remain outside for brief periods during arrival, check-in, or departure. During winter months, visitors should be prepared for cold temperatures and changing weather conditions.

Directions to Point Mackenzie Correctional Farm in Wasilla, Alaska

Point Mackenzie Correctional Farm is located at 13690 S. Guernsey Road, Wasilla, Alaska.

From Wasilla, travel south on Knik-Goose Bay Road for approximately 17 miles, then turn right onto Point Mackenzie Road. Follow Point Mackenzie Road until it ends at a T-intersection, then turn right. The road becomes Ayrshire Road. Continue approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto Guernsey Road, which is unpaved. Continue approximately one-half mile to the Point Mackenzie Correctional Farm main gate.

Visitor parking is located outside the main gate. A portable toilet is available near the gate.

IMPORTANT: Some GPS and navigation apps may route drivers through Big Lake, adding considerable distance to the trip. Visitors should verify that their route approaches PMCF from Knik-Goose Bay Road and Point Mackenzie Road before leaving Wasilla.

Allow approximately 45 minutes from Wasilla and 90 minutes from Anchorage under normal conditions. Traffic, winter weather, and road conditions may increase travel time.

There are limited services in the Point Mackenzie area. Visitors should obtain fuel and use restroom facilities before traveling beyond Settlers Bay gas station.
